Open Sesame Team Galaxy (Sign up by March 3rd)Posted on 01.03.2015

A new open team galaxy beginning this Friday, March 6th is now ready for signup. Dubbed the Open Sesame Team Galaxy, this galaxy opens its doors to players of all ranks, even if you are entirely new to the game.

In team galaxies, you will be placed in one of two teams fighting for supremacy, and you immediately share line of sight with your teammates at the start of the galaxy. This makes teamwork and coordination all the more important, with players often taking specialist roles in the team - resulting in a vastly unique experience to Cosmic Supremacy.

So if you have yet to experience a team galaxy, and would like to join this one, add your name to the player list here. One of the player admins will send you a password shortly to join the galaxy, with some details about how to make the most of you and your teammates' team galaxy experience. Hope to see you there!

Note: Players will be assigned to their respective teams 3 days before the galaxy starts, so you will need to be signed up by Tuesday, March 3rd.

Second Month-End Basic Galaxy opening this FridayPosted on 22.02.2015

As has been practised for a while now, beginner galaxies for rank 0 and 1 players are open every Friday. Starting this year however, we will be running a special edition of the beginner galaxies at the end of each month, where up to rank 2 players will be eligible to join these galaxies as well. Join now!

With February coming to a close, the second such galaxy will be starting on Friday, February 27th. Unlike the first rank 0-2 galaxy, this galaxy will feature a more cubic structure, and will be running at 2-hours per turn after turn 120 - so you can take a breather and play a game while you tend to commitments in real-life.

There's still plenty of spaces available, so sign up now and join your peers in the fight for supremacy.

Note that this is a basic galaxy, and certain technologies such as doctrines and wormholes are disabled.

Alternatively, if you're interested to join a team galaxy where you can manage your empire alongside teammates, then check this discussion out.

Magnus CaelestiaPosted on 10.02.2015

Magnus, adj., meaning "great" in Latin, was sometimes used as a first name among Romans;

Caelestia, adj., meaning "celestial", or of in the heavens

The Magnus Caelestia galaxy is set to start ticks on Friday, February 20th. Featuring large sector sizes and ample planet space, it should see the rise of magnificent empires, fighting epic wars to attain cosmic supremacy.

How will you lead your people to flourish and prosper under such settings? Will you choose to build a stealth fleet, or a heavily armored fleet to make your opponents yield to your empire? Or would you choose a path of peace and build up a strong economy untouched by other civilisations? Join now, and decide the destiny of your people.

To join ranked galaxies, you need to gain at least a total of 15 fame points (i.e. at least rank 1). Fame points can be earned by finishing unranked galaxies, which open every Friday (unless otherwise stated).

Month-End Basic Galaxy open for signupPosted on 17.01.2015

It'll be sort of a champions galaxy, where you might expect to meet other players who have already possibly won an unranked galaxy. Will you forge strong alliances with them? Or wage war against them and take the spoils of victory?

Note that this is a basic galaxy, and certain technologies such as doctrines and wormholes are disabled.

Sign up if you feel like you're up for the challenge. The galaxy starts on Friday, January 30th.

Galaxy 280Posted on 31.12.2014

Galaxy 280 has just been extended for another 200 turns after consultation with the players in the galaxy. It will now end at turn 500.

Participating in unranked galaxies earn you fame, which allows you to join more competitive galaxies later.

These galaxies are designed to be a place where you can test your strategy against other players who are still learning the game as well.

[CS] Advisors that appear in the galaxy are there to help new players with questions about the game, and will not participate actively in the galaxy. Feel free to contact them. You may also visit the live chat or post in the forums if you have further questions.

Unranked galaxies open every Friday.

Infinite Space GalaxyPosted on 24.12.2014

The first galaxy for the year 2015 is now open for signup! Introducing the Infinite Space Galaxy, where the concept is to have every planet have 1000 space, but with very low planet commodities. The idea is that players can build lots of buildings with all that space, and with a low research modifier to enable more of that.

Sized for 50 or more planets a player, this galaxy runs on 3 hour turns, and has no artificial end-turn set. So be prepared to choose your empire's strategy carefully in order to reign supreme in this galaxy. Do you try to hold it out and fill your planets as much as possible before war comes knocking? Or do you send your ships out early and bring war to other empires?

IMPORTANT NOTE: This galaxy was reshuffled around December 27th. Do make sure that your initial ship orders and civilization traits are reissued before ticks start on Friday, January 2nd.

To join ranked galaxies, you need to gain at least a total of 15 fame points (i.e. at least rank 1). Unranked galaxies open every Friday (unless otherwise stated).

Heavens Or Hell GalaxyPosted on 03.12.2014

After centuries of preparation, the forces of Hell have broken free and begun a rampage across the galaxies of mortals. Heaven has long ago sunk into complacency and is unable to counter the attack. Both sides are recruiting mortal allies with promises of paradise or eternal gratification. Neutrality for mortals is not possible, you must choose a faction. Will you support the darkness or the light?

As the very special time of Christmas and New Year is approaching, and the God's sun is about to be resurrected in the skies, Cosmic Supremacy is offering you to participate in a truly astrologically-themed galaxy - Heavens or Hell.

The main idea is for players to choose coat-of-arms for themselves, based on heavenly or hellish creatures that fight for honor to reside in either the top or bottom of the galaxy. Take part in shaping the galaxy's destiny and help to determine who will win the Universe - God or Devil, Good or Evil.

While this is not a team galaxy, perhaps you will find good allies that are the same kind (Heavenly or Hellish) as you. Treasons and weird alliances shall not be excluded, but nevertheless, it is your matter of honor to make sure the ultimate victory is yours.

IMPORTANT NOTE: At the request of the player who suggested the galaxy, this galaxy has been postponed a week so more players can sign up. The galaxy starts ticks on Friday, December 19th.
