I agree with Nick that the changes would screw things up. I also agree that home systems should be off limits for a certain length of time. Hi Tingling ...

What affect would it have on drawing new people?

The Battle Calculator would work the same..I'm using Arcady's ship design spreadsheet to create the ships I posted above, so that isn't a problem.

Nice to hear from you Tingling, it's been awhile.

I think if Erwin wanted to, and had the time ... He could create an alternate universe where players could log into a universe with standard galaxy settings, or log into universe 2 where galaxy settings are altered.

As Nick pointed out, would this bring in New players? Have no idea on that. Would it bring in older players, Maybe.

Bringing in new players was never the problem. Keeping them here was. I guess some would enjoy the changes while others would oppose them.

I know something like this will never be implemented..The change would be so subtle most people wouldn't even noticed. It would of made light ships slightly stronger.

At the same time I thought, it would spark a conversation about the pros and cons of various ship designs. Guess not.

I have had some time to think about the new ship design idea, I now think it would be a good thing.

Reason: Any changes toward stronger ships may bring back some of the older players and interest new ones.

I have not had much time to be on line in the past few weeks, But wanted to let you know, Sygor's Idea is a good change.

Nick

You could build the exact same ships you currently build or ships with slight variations. If the new ships are stronger or weaker would depend on the builder and what they thing is more important. Speed/firepower/shield/cloaking or a combination.

Going to zoom into one Tech that is hardly ever used...Large Pilot Cabin. Wonder if anyone would use it if we kept it the same except cut the space requirement in half?

Or change it to a Small Pilot Cabin.
Minimum Crew requirements cut in half.
Fire power Rank Bonus would also be affected.

I don't know ... a singularity drive and a wormhole infiltrator on a corvette just don't seem right. Wink
