Please respond if you are interested in participating in a team galaxy.
Currently there are many galaxies that people are working on sponsoring so I'm posting this now to 'test' interest. However a possible starting date for the galaxy would be 3rd of final weekend in march (the 19th or 26th). I believe that this start date would allow for Messier 83 to be finished.
If people are interested in another teamie, we can discuss settings at that time. (probably 1 or 2 hour ticks -- with the first 100 ticks being 45 minutes or an hour).

If we put the speed starting ticks in, I suggest they would be up to turn 50 or 75 since many seemed to have had enough of sitting four hours in front of the computer.

There does not seem to be a lot of interest a team galaxy -- I think this is because of team galaxy exhausation caused by the speed galaxy and Nongolf pushing for the unsupported regular galaxy + preset teams format.
However, after Messier starts there will be no galaxies avaiable for singup (for rank 2+ players) -- with the exception of dilation III. Should we open this up for singup (3 weeks) or shelve this galaxy until April?

It looks like Multiple Team galaxy is going to happen in March.
So I think it would make sense to do the next team galaxy in Mid-April -- we can call it Springtime Team Galaxy II? I'll revive this string late in March and then maybe we can open this for signups starting April 1st with a start date of April 15th?
Settings would be:
1 hour ticks for the first 100 ticks.
2 hour ticks for the remainder
10 Civ Trait Changes
30 Homeworld Changes
System Size: 5-6
Juicy Planet count: 3
Juicy Planet: 30-35-35-35
Normal Planet Size: 18-26
Normal Planet Commitidies: 25-40
System Separation: Very far
Tech Modifier: 2000
Rep Modifier: 0
Corruption Modifier: 1

Well. Since Nongolf is canceling the second multi-team galaxy. Should we try to get this team galaxy rolling for a later april start? Say April 30? Is there the interest in a proper team galaxy?

Well please post here if you are interested in forming a team galaxy to start at the end of April. If this thread generates enough interest then I can assume that we can open this for Team Galaxy for signup this saturday with a start date of the 30th of April.
Also we'll need captains (and it can't be me since I can only check in once every couple of days now!).
Lastly, please find the current galaxy settings below:
Settings would be:
1 hour ticks for the first 50 ticks.
2 hour ticks for the remainder ticks 50-600
10 Civ Trait Changes
40 Homeworld Changes
System Size: 8
Juicy Planet count: 3
Juicy Planet: 30-35-35-35
Normal Planet Size: 23-25
Normal Planet Commitidies: 30-35
Colony Modifer: 800
System Separation: 1:4
Tech Modifier: 2000
Rep Modifier: 0
Corruption Modifier: 4
Notes:
1) The corruption modifer is set to 4 as an attempt to curtail the practice of gifting more planets to 'solid' players. Since there is no rep modifier it won't be possible for people to break even to subvert this.
2) Colony Modifier is high for the same reason. To penalize the super players.
2) 8 planets per system is an experiment. The idea is to prevent people from taking an entire system while someone sleeps and hence make it easier for the sane people to react to system invasions.
3) Planets are rich mainly because Messier's poor planets caused smaller players to be at an even worse disadvantage.
4) If someone can suggest a way to make HQ's not super planets, please tell me. I set the changes to 40 so that 'newer' players are more likely to increase their production traits.
5) Tech modifer and distances are high.

For some reasons I can can't change the settings I originally set up. I try to make changes, hit the submit button and then when I reload the galaxy it lists the original (unmodified) settings.
Once it's confirmed that this galaxy has enough suppor to get launched. Should I just make a new galaxy with the proper settings?

Really want to get started and may be able to help promote the game in a real big way. I am interested in playing the game and also bringing the game closer to the front of the fanbase so all can get a whiff of that creativity buzz thats jingling through my veins as we speak. Teams would be cool but a newbie like myself is probably not what you are looking for.

Sure, you can do that, and I remove the obsolete Springtime-Team-Galaxy.
