You guys realise that in speed galaxies, you get REMOVED by the galaxy creator at the start of turn 0 if you're not signed in, right? I had that happen to me before even if I set governors and signed in at turn 2.
And speed galaxies are scarier than they sound :p But it's worth the experience I think.. so I'm all for it if there's enough interest.

Well, the demand for a speed galaxy is not exactly overwhelming, also it seems to be completely mixed in terms of rank. We have unranked and rank 3 players, that's quite unbalanced.
I am still willing to open up a speed galaxy for tomorrow with the usual settings and see how many players sign up. Just wanted to point out potential issues.

Speed Galaxy open for sign up
The speed galaxy is open for sign up. Tick times are as always between 1 and 2.5 minutes.
Here's a quick reminder how speed galaxies work? A speed Galaxy is split into 2 sessions, we play for 5 hours on Saturday, and another 5 hours on Sunday, so please do only sign up if you got time to play on Saturday AND Sunday! There are 3 breaks during these 5 hours, in total you are only actually playing 4 hours out of these 5 - the rest are breaks.
Everything in the game runs twice as fast: ships fly twice their regular speed, buildings and research take half the time. This way the action heats up a lot quicker!
This particular Speed Galaxy is taking place on Saturday, July 2nd and Sunday July 3rd.
Every player that is participating needs to be online and INSIDE the galaxy at least 15 minutes before the ticks start! (You will be notified via email when it is time to enter the galaxy) That is the moment when the real size of the galaxy is determined, depending on the number of players that showing up. At this point the galaxy will be re-shuffled. You will not lose any Governors, Production-Queues or Ship-Designs during this process.
The galaxy starts its ticks at 17:00 CET (11:00 ET, 8:00 PT), both on Saturday and Sunday. Here's the exact tick schedule.
Day 1:
0:00 - turn 0..29: 1 min ticks
0:30 - turn 30..60: 1.5 min ticks
1:15 - 15 min break at turn 60
1:30 - turn 61..80: 2 min ticks
2:10 - 30 min break at turn 80
2:40 - turn 81..100: 2.5 min ticks
3:30 - 15 min break at turn 100
3:45 - turn 101..130: 2.5 min ticks
5:00 - turn 130 end of day 1
Day 2:
0:00 - turn 131..154: 2.5 min ticks
1:00 - 15 min break at turn 154
1:15 - turn 155..179: 2.5 min ticks
2:15 - 30 min break at turn 179
2:45 - turn 180..204: 2.5 min ticks
3:45 - 15 min break at turn 204
4:00 - turn 205..230: 2.5 min ticks
