can we agree to have normal ship speed next speed galaxy?
negative aspects of 2x speed:
1. scanner range is not increased, players can attack each other without warning from outside scanner range
2. it gets too chaotic to follow destroyer fleets zipping around at speed 100.
3. also 2x ship speed some ppl get confused about what a normal ship speed should be.
+ with low tech mult u can get fast engines anyway and it wont slow the game down so much.

I agree, it makes more sense when you can actually see where approximately the ships will be in 1 turn, now they just teleport half way to another system.

18:30 - turn 30..60: 1.5 min ticks
19:15 - 15 min break at turn 60
19:30 - turn 61..80: 2 min ticks
20:10 - End of day 1 at turn 80 (effectively a pause for 21 hrs 30 mins till next day, instead of original 30mins)
Week 1: Sunday (Day 2)
17:40 - turn 81..100: 2.5 min ticks
18:30 - 15 min break at turn 100
18:45 - turn 101..130: 2.5 min ticks
20:00 - turn 130 end of day 2 (effectively a pause for 5 days 22 hours or 142 hours, instead of original 19 hours)

Week 2: Saturday (Day 3)
18:00 - turn 131..154: 2.5 min ticks
19:00 - 15 min break at turn 154
19:15 - turn 155..179: 2.5 min ticks

I'm suggesting this schedule because it's the long hours that put me off from speed galaxies, and I think I could manage 2 hour spurts better; considering it's normally at Asia midnight anyway. I realise there's a risk of people giving up or just going inactive by the second week though, but just like to see how many people might be interested after all (can't put up a poll here cause I'm lazy to create a new thread :p)
O.. and I haven't asked Erwin whether this is feasible.. but I just assumed that there's only 3 values to change from the original timetable in the way the breaks are given (instead of 30 mins).. so maybe this might work for Erwin as well - anything else I think would require more coding work.

K'm a bit tired of speed galaxies, but I would play a galaxy with compressed ticks, maybe only a few hours on one of the days - two hours of 3 min ticks maybe.
Hmm.. too bad it's not possible to transfer empires between accounts.. like maybe turn 1-100 played by me.. then 101-200 played by mizzi.. then maybe we can have some kind of mechanism that lets different players play different stages of the same game.. i know it wouldnt be fair and it's not currently feasible, but it would be nice if we could start a game like that demo galaxy where you take over an empire already with some research and a few planets grown up..
personally i like the expansion and colonisation phase more than the fleet battles phase though.. so i dont mind if i played an expansion phase of a game.. then save it and let someone take over my empire.. (and i realise i can totally screw it up for someone by declaring war on everyone.. lol) just suddenly thought it might be fun with a speed galaxy setting where someone takes over from me after one day or something..
but then again.. it's not feasible.. i know.. just dreaming out loud..
