turn 247-251: Red team of Summer TG II near Phantom's HQ
That one taught me how to use the "move near" command. I blamed that awful loss on myself, driving that fleet after I got too sleepy to think and I couldn't give it away when I went to bed, either... But after the game was over, they told me they had scouts on my tail and we would not have escaped anyway.

This is why when you have the 70 scanning tech you always have a attack scout or 2 on your own tail at the 50 and 70 range. And since they are cheap it would not hurt to have 3 or 4 trailing so anyone would have a hard time getting in there even cloaked.

A new contender from Multi-team
Miniluv just lost 139 out of 141 troops attacking White Power. It's not just the scale of the loss--it is the fact that it happened late in the galaxy, turn 192, with only a few ticks left on the clock.
This late in the game, people have LONG since had plenty of planetary scans, and (s)he could have looked.

Ermm.. embarassingly.. we messed up at least 3 ground invasions on Jimmy's HQ.. (once was when i split off my bombers and my ally troops followed those instead; once was when i forgot who i should follow.. and last min followed the wrong guy and let another ally launch a ground invasion on his own.. and last one.. well.. we thought we had enough :p - i kinda havent been paying attention after that)
So there.. we have a strong contender for nongolfs too (though i thought nongolfers was meant to be used in the context of fleets

I'm glad you brought it up yourself, or else I might have had to.
Those really were noteworthy blunders, and together they make for a decent candidate for this award in my eyes.

Our Nongolf was worth 20 points on 10 points scale. We had everything prepared but somehow we lost 400-500 troops
