so i started up a new galaxy. basically default settings except i shrunk the sector size way down and increased the planet count per system. the net effect should put the outer planets of some systems very close together. the idea is to crowd everyone together, pressure cooker environment. some will hate this idea i am sure but maybe enough will like it to sponsor me up.

Ok, thanks for the support Arcady. set the start time for nov 11th 20:00 CET. that works out to 1:00 pm US Central(i think) in just under two weeks, i am considering pushing it forward but if so it will be a little over a week. i am thinking the 20th.
Changed my signature to help promote the galaxy. last time someone implied this was tasteless so i tried to keep it low key.

Thanks guys. I really tried to make my signature understated but still able to convey a point. I think i achieved that pretty well.
if anyone was wondering the absolute biggest font size the forum will recognize is 39, after that it doesn't register. But i found the 39 was maybe a little to in your face so i went for the much more tasteful 30. Ya' know, trying to keep it high class.
Finally a big thanks to darkstar for the support. only up a few hours and already half supported. i guess i managed to make my signature a least a little noticeable. i was worried i erred on the side of subtlety.
edit: so decided to move the date up to november the 21st at 1600 CET which i think works out to 9 am US central. i keep saying i think because daylight savings is coming up and ours is different than europes because we screwed it up a couple of years ago and i just don't feel like figuring it out so it may end up being 8am or it may end up being 10am. i don't really care either way. did this as an edit as versus a new post since you know what they say about double posting:
edit2: so i am thinking the one thing i am missing from the galaxy is an official theme song. maybe i can get some input, i have it narrowed down to three possibilities:

only been up for about 24 hours and moving right along with the sponsorship. raf7 has contributed leaving only 22 more points to be paid. got 10 free seats in a 22 person galaxy so maybe i should bring that down a little bit. 7 would be 1/3 which strikes me as a good number. would take 6 more points off and get us down to 16 points.
thinking about making a poll in off-topic about the galaxy theme song. since number 3 was obviously a little joke need a real song to replace it. i think the theme i want is pretty obvious, any suggestions? go ahead and post a link, i will click on it blindly. little revenge for those taken in earlier.

the galaxy is now fully sponsored a short 3 days after creation. This makes me very hopeful for the amount of participation we will receive. the galaxy was supported 100% by player contributions which isn't a first but is still a good sign.
