Molasses Galaxy
Well i've decided to start another galaxy, but i'll give it 20 days from now at least before starting.
I've set this one up to have some great planets, but be a long slow game.
Turn length is currently 72 minutes (20 turns a day), but may double it to 144 minutes or 10 turns/day if it is preferred, it would fit the theme
300 modifier on colony ships.
350 sector size.
I've maxed the tech modifier at 2000, but would like to bump it to 3k (maxed at 2k - can we change that erwin?).
I've put down the first 40 of the 78 required, but that is with Non-premium players set at 0, they cost an extra 2 each.
Also Erwin, i'd like to test HS splitting in this galaxy as well. Thank you

Well i do have the planet settings pretty high, so it's going to have lots of great planets, even with 2k tech modifier it will likely feel faster than it seems.

My hope is that the galaxy will be long and slow, and that with the turn length so long, skipping a full real day wouldn't effect play too much, and still be fun with 'nice' planets/sytems.
Could even play other galaxies simultaneously since this would be low impact.

Thanks to Elder RAce this galaxy is now ready to run.
It is set to start on april 2nd. I can move that date either direction if needed. Just need to know what people want/think.
I know many of us are in Arcady's team galaxy. So they may want this delayed, though with the longer turn lengths is shouldn't be an issue to just check into this galaxy periodically while focusing on a normal turn length galaxy.

Actually I wanted to start Branko's Galaxy next, since it's on the queue for a while now. I did not get any feedback from him yet, however, so I am fine with opening yours next.
I would suggest starting the ticks on Friday April 9th, since I believe it would take around 2 weeks to fill.

Sorry for the late reply, i'd like to start Pandora on April 9th.
Isnt Molasses a long turn game meant as a second galaxy? (144 minute turns).
Maybe both can start at the same time?
I happened to notice that Molasses has:
- corruption modifier at 3.0
- density at 1:5
- colony module mult at 200
- aprox max players = 39
Does corruption have a maximum effect or will it always decrease when Empires grow?
These settings may lead to many unsettled planets.
Also, reputation modifier is at 8.0(!!).
I remember that strange effect where more planets would improve corruption when reputation is very high. Can this still happen? If so, these settings may represent quite a cocktail...

It's meant to be interesting and very slow paced.
I actually had the numbers much 'worse' at the start and toned some of it down.
The colony modifier used to be at 250.
The high rep is simply to encourage activity and engagement (within the break even bounds). Are you referring to the first Phantom Menace for that 'strange effect'? If so that may no longer be the case as it was patched at that time, you'd have to check with Erwin.

This is still the case. However, the "positive corruption" has been capped at 50.
I do agree that this is a bit of a borderline setting, it might be interesting for those who know how to handle those. For those that do not, this might be a bit of a disadvantage. Maybe adjust this factor to 3 or 4, so that it is not quite as extreme?
Final question, when to start this galaxy? It is probably a good idea to open it together with Phantom's Menace Galaxy, to offer slow and "fast" galaxies at the same time. This might mean that we will have trouble filling this galaxy up, so I would reserve the right to either push the starting date back, or re-shuffle this galaxy to a smaller size.

As soon as you made your adjustments, let me know. We will open it then and go with a starting-date of April 16th. We decide at that point if we need to push the date further back.
I actually find the idea of a slow paced Galaxy to be very good, Alarik. A nice long game period with strategy over stress sounds like fun to me.

39 ranked players with 5:1 density is big, even for "normal" galaxies...
And Erwin, is your plan is to open Molasses and Pantom's simultaneously?
How about SpringTG? I ask this because Holiste did set its starting date also to the 16th, and there seems to be a good amount of players waiting for it...
